Brunel University London plays a significant role in national higher education, and has numerous national and international partnerships with both academia and industry actors. According to the Research Excellence Framework 2014, the volume of ‘world-leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’ research carried out at Brunel has increased by more than half in the past six years. Brunel has a long history of successful bidding for European funding, and of successfully management and delivery of EU projects. Brunel has participated in or lead over 170 projects within FP7, with a cumulative value to Brunel of over €30M, and has already been successful with several Horizon 2020 proposals.
