WATER-MINING on display in Spain’s Granada





The?Parque de las Ciencias?science centre in the Spanish city of Granada celebrated?World Environment Day?on 5 June 2023 with an exhibition showcasing the results of the?WATER-MINING?project in tackling the ongoing water crisis in Europe.?The exhibition?showcases the process of using solar energy to obtain freshwater through seawater desalination in locations like Lampedusa (Italy) and Cyprus, providing a solution to the water scarcity problem in these regions. Workshop at the European Desalination Conference





On the 22nd of May,?Dimitris Xevgenos, WATER-MINING Project Coordinator and Assistant Professor at TU Delft led the?WATER-MINING??Workshop on Circular Desalination: Value Chains and Sustainability? at the Parklane Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus. WATER-MINING at the UN2023 Water Conference



On March 21, the WATER-MINING?project?took?the opportunity to engage in informative and thought-provoking discussions on water-related topics?to mark?World Water Day on March 22, during the United Nations Water Conference, held in New York?from the 21st to the 24th of March 2023. Pilot Plant of Case Study 5 is now operational





The Pilot Plant of Case Study 5 of WATER-MINING project has commenced its?operations. Located at la Llagosta in Barcelona, Spain, this facility showcases an innovative treatment train designed for highly efficient wastewater treatment and resource recovery. The?cutting-edge system produces reclaimed water for various applications, including agriculture, urban settings, and industries. With Barcelona facing water scarcity and usage restrictions, projects like WATER-MINING play a crucial role in addressing these concerns.

Market and Policy Workshop in Brussels



The?WATER-MINING?project partners came together for?the?Market & Policy Workshop?held between 7-8 February 2023 in Brussels, Belgium. This two-day event brought together experts and stakeholders to delve into crucial topics surrounding the project’s goals and societal value.?The workshop served as a platform for knowledge exchange and shaping sustainable water management.
